Micro Death Machines
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Originally created for the Scream Machine Game Jam (hosted by Caveware Digital) #ScreamMachine. A GTA 2- like with a Zombie Apocalypse theme. It features:
* 4 vehicle types - Front, rear and All wheel drive. Exhilarating drift mechanics. Also features vehicular combat with cops in high speed pursuits. Each type of car feels unique and requires a different play style.
* Arcade like top down shooting. Mouse precision aiming. Weapon types include guns, grenades and landmines
* A City arena that feels alive with 12 different types of NPCs, which include Zombies, Pedestrians and Agents
* Hilarious Ragdoll physics - Mow down enemies with cars to see them fly. Blast them to space with grenades and landmines.
* Tactical options due to survival element. Conserve ammo by using other NPCs as Zombie bait. Shoot landmine carrying characters to set up traps for Zombies. Roadkill = ammo, so go on a rampage with any vehicle.
* Enter and Exit any vehicle.
* Funny SFX and effects for total immersion.
The game was created with the Unity Engine, using self made and free assets from the Unity store and Mixamo.com

Made by a single South African hobbyist developer over the Jam's 10 day period.

This was a lot of fun! Trying to avoid the cop cars while getting more ammo and grenades was great (:
This was great fun to play! I can see a lot of love and effort went into making it as is evident in the game's polish. More than what one would expect for a jam entry. The car control physics need a little tweaking, but overall the game-play is very intuitive. Little things like funny dance animations etc on the characters add to the absurd humor of it all which I enjoyed very much.
Well done for making this! :)
As a lover of the old top-down GTA i really liked this :) Also very good effort with making menu, tutorial etc, made it feel like a good demo!
